Kratka vsebina

Knjiga je posvečena spominu na Jaroslava Šašla, uglednega raziskovalca antike, ob stoletnici njegovega rojstva. Z novimi spoznanji širi vedenje o vlogi vzhodnoalpskega prostora in Balkana v zgodovini rimskega cesarstva. Sedemnajst prispevkov dvajsetih avtorjev z različnih področij odraža geografsko širino in tematsko raznolikost, značilno tudi za Šašlovo znanstveno zapuščino. Prispevki v prvem delu obravnavajo začetek rimskega obdobja in principata, drugi del pa ponuja nove poglede na pozno rimsko dobo, pozno antiko in na prehod v zgodnji srednji vek.
